Family Vacation in New Braunfels
For the past 50 years, my family has been spending a week on the river in New Braunfels. We stay at a great little place called Heidelberg Lodges that has a great pool and is right on the river. The whole family (cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles) all come and we spend our days sun bathing in the freezing cold river water, eating tons of junk food and playing lots of card games and dominos. This year was going to be a different adventure in that there were 3 new additions to the family! My brother Alan and his wife Jennifer had my niece Georgia (who was born last October), I had K.P. and my cousin Elizabeth had Ainsley, who is 1-month younger than K.P. Whew....3 new babies! It's crazy to think our family expanded that much in one year! I was excited because this trip was going to be my first time meeting Ainsley! It was also the first time all of the cousins would meet each other.
Overall, the week was a great time. I had been worried about how K.P. would do in a new environment but it looks like he takes well to vacationing! The first night we were there he slept the entire night straight through! I was ready to move there permanently with the hope that it would continue. We didn't have the same luck the next night but overall, he did pretty well.
Here are some cute videos and pictures we have of all of the cousins meeting for the first time and getting in the pool!
Here is K.P. and Nana. He is wearing his new Gruene Dance Hall t-shirt and cowboy hat that PawPaw bought him. Of course, the hat is too small b/c K.P. kind of has a big head :)
This is a picture of me, my sister-in-law Jennifer and cousin Elizabeth with each of our new babies! Georgia (left) is the oldest at 9 months. Ainsley (middle) is 4 months and K.P. (the only boy is 5 months). If this week is any indication, they are going to be a handful next year!
Grandparents with the grandkids. Notice that Georgia and K.P. are doing the white trash thing. They are in their diapers! Ainsley is the only lady out of the group!
Great-grandpa and grandpas!
