The Working Mom and the Importance of a Great Nanny

To be honest, I was really apprehensive about how my transition back to work was going to go. Although I certainly had days where I would have gladly traded a quiet day at the office for one of my sleep-deprived days filled with nothing but crying, feeding and diaper changing, I was still dreading leaving my little guy. Although being a mom isn't always glamorous, I love it. I love being home with him and being all that a mom entails. I love how much he loves me. I love how he lights up when he sees me walk into a room and how he smiles when I talk to him. I worried that I would lose a little bit of that special connection when I returned to work and the thought of it broke my heart. However, I know that I have a great job and it will mean more to K.P. and our family in the future if I keep it. Also, knowing that I have someone as wonderful as Jennifer as K.P.'s nanny makes all of the difference in the world.

Top 10 Reasons why I love Jennifer as K.P.'s nanny:
10. She loves K.P. and is great with him
9. She is easy-going and caring
8. She likes to watch cartoons with him
7. I get to see one of my best friends every day
6. I can call her as much as I want and she doesn't complain
5. I don't have to get him dressed in the morning and take him anywhere
4. I can come home and eat lunch and watch t.v. whenever I want
3. She's great at taking pictures of the little guy and keeping me posted on what they're doing
2. I don't have a stranger in my house
1. I get to boss her around (b/c she is my employee)

Ashley, Your venture into an online, living scrapbook is stretching my imagination. (Who knew that one day I would blog???) I'm so very glad that you have taken the time to do this - it's a grandparent's dream to see the day-to-day stuff up close and personal.
