I can't believe my little man is 1!!! His birthday was Monday but we had a great big BBQ to celebrate on Sunday. I had planned everything outside so I had been pretty worried about the weather cooperating. It turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL day. Seriously, you could not have asked for better weather. It was a perfect blue sky. Not too hot and not too cold. I had also rented a bouncy castle (I know..I know..I went overboard...) and it was a big hit too!
We had a great turn out. Friends and family came from near and far to help us celebrate. I am really thankful to have such wonderful friends and family to help share the special day. And a great day it was. Good food...good company...way too many presents :)
As for pictures, I was so busy running around that I handed off picture duties to my mom and a couple of friends. I was able to capture a couple of pictures (see below) but I failed miserably at actually getting any good ones.
For some great pictures check out Nanny Jennifer's blog here. She has a lot more than I do (and a lot better).
Jennifer's sister Lara also took some great pictures. You can check them out here.
Here are the few that I took...
K.P.'s birthday cake!
K.P. playing with his soccer ball.
Who knows what he was doing to make me take this picture...
K.P. chasing Kendra and the lawn mower that Aunt Allison gave him. On a side note: Aunt Allison was not able to come in town for the party but earlier in the week she told me that if she won the lottery that week then she would be there for the party with a live pony as a gift to K.P. Although I would have loved Allison to be there (and to have won the lottery), I would not have been thrilled with a pony! ha ha ha
Grandma and Grandpa Slania bought the cutest birthday cowboy t-shirt for K.P. and they had a "1" put on the back since it was his first birthday. Too cute!
K.P. at the end of the day. A very tired little boy...
Picture with Nanny Jennifer on Monday morning, K.P.'s actual birthday.
Ok, I look absolutely HORRIBLE in this picture (my right eye was really hurting me --see how it is half closed) and I was wearing my glasses so I had no eye make-up on, etc. Not to mention K.P. decided to wake up at 5 that morning and I was just exhausted. However, it was his birthday and I wanted to get a picture. He looks so cute. He was laughing and smiling. I hate that I ruined the pic. ha ha ha

Andrew and I got K.P. a sandbox for his birthday. He LOVED it.
As you can see, all of the kids loved it.
